I initially planted them with their tails in the air as in your photos with no success until a family friend told me that you lay them flat on the soil and cover them with something (like a stick) so they dont blow away. I have so far had a 100% success rate of germination (some seeds still managed to fly away though). I know it sounds like a strange method of planting seeds but it works as my seeds sprouted in less than 2 weeks over the Christmas/New Years period.
